Sakrebailu Elephant Camp is located near Shivamogga (Shimoga) in Karnataka, along the banks of the sacred River Tunga. It is approximately 6 km from Shivamogga city.

The camp currently houses 20 elephants — a mix of male and female, wild-captured kumki elephants, and calves born at the camp itself.

A Kumki elephant is a trained elephant used by forest departments to manage wild elephants, assist in rescue operations, and help resolve human-elephant conflict situations.

You can donate through our secure payment portal by visiting the Donations page. We accept credit/debit cards, UPI, and bank transfers. All donations are tax-deductible under Section 80G.

Our elephant adoption programme allows you to sponsor an elephant's care and welfare. You will receive regular updates, photos, and a personalised adoption certificate. The adoption fee directly supports food, medical care and training.

Yes! The camp is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Visitors can see the elephants, watch feeding and bathing sessions, and learn about conservation efforts directly from mahouts.

Yes, all donations to the Sakrebailu Elephant Camp are eligible for tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. A donation receipt will be issued for tax purposes.

Sagar has participated in Shivamogga Dasara 15 times and carried the Ambari six times. Balanna, Bahaddur, Bhanumathi and Somanna have also participated in Dasara processions.
